Progressive Global Energy is recruiting for a Global Oil & Gas Company(Operator) for a Project Manager in Austin, TX! Looking for Project Managers that have Large CapEx project experience in the Oil & Gas Industry. This is a full-time, 12 month contract with high potential to extend or go direct hire as they want someone long-term. The schedule is the ideal 9/80 schedule: working 9 hour days and having every other Friday off for a 3 day weekend! We offer full benefits(medical/dental/vision/etc.) to our contract employees and 401k. Competitive hourly rates and per diem can be provided for candidates not local to Austin.

Job Description:

The Project Manager will manage all aspects of Project Management on multiple simultaneous projects, which vary in size, complexity, and value drivers. The projects may be well pad facilities, well pad tie-ins, booster stations, product storage, gas compression, crude conditioning, salt water disposal, etc.

The Project Manager will manage all aspects of Project Planning and Execution, from the handoff from Project Development or Initiation through Commissioning and Closeout. This role will be full time and based in Austin, TX on a 9x80 schedule, with periodic trips to engineering company offices (primarily Denver and Houston), as well as the field office and construction sites.

Specific responsibilities shall include:

  • Steward Safety Principles and Practices

  • Development and Stewardship of the Project Execution Plan

  • Ensure compliance with appropriate project processes and technical requirements

  • Effective communication and stakeholder management

  • Managing third party engineering/design efforts through Front End Loading and Detailed Design

  • Managing the Supply Chain, including development of Contract Strategy and Tactical Plans

  • Ensuring field activities are well planned and executed

  • Managing effective project reviews, including design, process risk, constructability, and safety reviews

  • Managing Project Controls processes and reports, including effective estimating, planning, and forecasting

  • Champion Change Management

  • Manage Project Risks and Mitigations

  • Input into Capital Planning, Accruals, and other business related interfaces

  • Manage Document Control

  • Ensure Operations Management of Change Processes are followed

  • Mentor and coach others

Qualifications and Essential Personal Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Engineering

  • PMP Certification highly preferred, not required

  • 15 years experience in Hydrocarbons industry (E&P, Midstream, Refining, Petrochemicals)

  • 10 years experience Project Management experience in the Hydrocarbons /Oil & Gas / Petrochemicals industries

  • Ability to travel 25% or as project needs require

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Highly analytical and strong problem solving skills. Able to assess risks and articulate root causes.

  • Able to multitask, shift priorities

  • Strong working capability in MS Excel, Visio, PowerPoint

  • Project Controls experience preferred

  • Procurement / Supply Chain experience preferred

  • Familiar with Unconventionals Industry

  • Familiar with onshore production facilities, equipment and gathering systems (production facilities, gas compression, booster stations, SWDs, LP gathering, Artificial Lift, etc.)

  • Project economic methodology (e.g. NPV, IRR, Cost-Benefit, Opportunity Costing) experience preferred
