Large Oil and Gas Operator is looking for a Field Facilities Engineer for Development and Production USA division on their company. Job Description:

The Field Facilities Engineer will be responsible for all phases of project management including FEL Loading, project concept selection, AFE preparation, design, and execution of gas gathering system projects and associated facilities (including upstream facilities, oil terminals, gas compressor stations, salt water disposals, pipelines, gas compression, dehydration, liquid / liquid separation, and gas metering stations).

More specifically, job duties include the following:

  • * Managing engineering contractors through the execution of FEL, FEED and detailed engineering
  • * Assisting construction supervisors with supervising construction activities to ensure compliance with construction contract documents
  • * Ensuring corporate requirements and initiatives related to HSE are incorporated in the design and execution of the project
  • * Ensuring corporate technical and operational requirements are adhered to during design and construction of the project
  • * Ensuring projects completed according to regulatory requirements (EPA, DOT, PHSMA, PSM)
  • * Preparing scope of work documents for construction and process equipment tender packages
  • * Supporting Supply Chain Management activities
  • * Preparing project cost estimates and documentation for AFEs
  • * Weekly reporting of costs, progress, and related metrics
  • * Supporting operations as needed in troubleshooting issues with existing facilities and incorporating lessons learned in future designs
  • * Drawing on design and project exposure from a diverse array of shale gas, NGL, and unconventional oil production equipment to formulate technical solutions

This position requires collaboration with other groups such as Operations, Maintenance, Reservoir Engineering, Drilling and Completion Engineering, Facilities, HSE, Regulatory, Production Accounting, and others to ensure maximum value creation. This position is based in Williston, ND and rotate on a three weeks on and three weeks off basis. This position reports directly to the Bakken Midstream CAPEX Lead. Very competitive hourly rate negotiable based on experience(expected to work 10 hour days). $110 per diem per day to be used to secure own lodging. Driving allowance of $50-$100 per day if required to be in the field and not in the office. Flights will be reimbursed and one Paid Travel Day per hitch.


  • * Must have a Bachelor's degree in Petroleum, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • * Minimum of ten (10) years of facilities and/or operations experience, working with a producer/operator or service provider required
  • * Candidates with US Onshore facilities experience are strongly preferred
  • * Strong Project Management Skills and strong experience with cost and schedule control (MS Project or Primavera strongly preferred)
  • * Working knowledge of regulations, codes, and standards applicable to US onshore shale operating regions
  • * Proven experience in managing engineering consultants to meet deliverable obligations
  • * Proven ability to resolve design issues and operating problems arising with gas gathering and processing facilities
  • * Experience with project economics and earned value engineering are required
  • * Experience with design of facilities electrical and SCADA systems would be beneficial
  • * Strong MS Office skills: Excel spreadsheets, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook
  • * Ability to travel to the field to support projects as needed
