Data Analyst / Scientist - Contract - London

A key account of Progressives are looking for a Senior Data Analyst for a 6 month contract.

The details are below:

Core duties and responsibilities:

  • Process & manipulate data for purpose of analysis and expert in developing complex machine learning capabilities from initial concept to implementation and testing different models for accuracy and performance
  • A practical hands-on approach applying to real-world problems by exploring data to develop ground breaking solutions in the field of sensor technology using statistical models, machine learning and AI
  • Perform physics and scientific work requiring the experimentation, and adaptation of technological, mathematical, statistical, and other scientific methods and techniques to support and understand the data from various applications of sensor technology

Minimum 5 years of industrial experience or 7+ years hands-on in an academic environment on statistical data analysis

Understanding and ability to create complex and novel machine learning algorithms/AI (both regressions and classification)

Instrumentation experience using scripting language, e.g. Serial comms and sensor interfacing

Hands-on and confident in setting up comprehensive experiments in order to gather characterisation data, testing and proving theories throughout the proof of concept development process

Experience using Matlab, Python or similar scripting language for data analysis

Understanding of Maxwell's equations (numerical solutions of PDEs)

Discipline area:

Develop algorithms for image reconstruction and image processing or recognition, and other, subsequent algorithm use for object classification etc.
