Cloud Support Engineer

I have a great opportunity for a Cloud Support Engineer to join a large manufacturing company based in Sydney near Parramatta. This position is starting with a 6 months contract and is likely to extend further.

Hands-on configuration, tuning and monitoring of AWS services, as required by the several IT applications Scripting infrastructure deployment and configuration (Windows and Linux-based images)

Design, document and implement technical solutions for applications deployed in AWS.

Maintains compliance with the Enterprise Cloud (LEC) design, policies and standards.

Knowledge sharing and mentoring within the Architect team and outsourced support teams.

Provides support for the Applications hosted inAWS.


3 Years' experience within a relevant technical position

AWS Certification (Architect and/or DevOps)

Bachelor's degree in Information Science / Information Technology, Computer Science / Engineering or a related field


One or more DevOps, Orchestration/Configuration Management and Continuous Integration technology (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Docker, Jenkins, Ansible etc.)

Linux (SUSE, Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat) and/or Microsoft Windows Server and associated technologies (Active Directory, Exchange etc.)

One or more Web and Application Server technologies (e.g. Squid, Apache HTTPD, Apache Tomcat, Nginx, Glassfish, JBoss, Puma, Passenger, IIS)

One or more scripting language (e.g. JSON, YAML, Bash, PowerShell, Ruby, Python, ebextensions)

Networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP

One or more version control platform (e.g. BitBucket, Git, Perforce, SVN, TFVC)

Experience managing full application stacks from the OS up through custom applications

Programming language experience (e.g. Java, node.js, Javascript, .NET, PHP)

Exposure to Virtualization (Hypervisors, VMware, Xen)

Understand the complete deployment lifecycle from design, build, test, deploy

Support / Troubleshooting experience
