Performance Testing Engineer (PR-34152698)

This position will involve several areas of work for the companies Performance Testing and Analysis Unit in San Ramon. The work involves providing engineering analysis, laboratory testing, and evaluation of technologies related to residential, commercial, and industrial energy efficiency products. This position requires working in the laboratory facilities in San Ramon.

Job Responsibilities

• Energy Efficiency Codes and Standards - Primarily perform energy codes and standards testing in the laboratory on advanced HVAC systems, heat pumps, boilers and other commercial and residential appliances. The lab testing includes test procedure development, test stand design and build-out, data acquisition system set-up, laboratory testing and reporting. All lab testing must be performed in accordance with our quality program and be in compliance with ISO-17025 requirements. This position also requires project management of the above scope of work including scoping, scheduling, budgeting, client management and managing all aspect of the project.
• Customer Energy Efficiency Programs - Work on and manage projects and programs to determine energy savings opportunities for Industrial, Agricultural, third party programs and other customers to support energy efficiency programs. This may involve engineering analysis, modeling, or measurement of process systems and equipment to determine baseline and alternative systems performance, and review of consultant work in these areas. In addition, this may involve assisting in ensuring compliance with quality and policy requirements, as well as budgeting and scheduling functions.
• General Mechanical Engineering Testing and Analysis - Work on special projects requiring engineering analysis and/or testing. This typically involves thermal/hydraulic problem solving and analysis, and may include specialized testing and evaluation at company facilities such as power plants, gas compressor stations, substations, or in the laboratory.
