Progressive Global Energy is seeking a Distribution Engineer for a large Energy client to join the Asset Enterprise Management in Team in their East Texas division. This division is currently working on distribution de-energizing/re-energizing projects and a need has been established for additional support in planning, maintenance, design engineering, project management, construction, and operations (routine, non-routine, and emergency restoration). This position is Beaumont, Texas based covering territory from Port Arthur, Lumberton and to Orange, Texas. The Distribution Engineer will be Field based reporting directly to the construction sites. Mileage will be compensated for driving for the position.

This is a one-year contract position that will keep extending long-term or go direct hire with the Energy Company after the first year. We offer competitive hourly rates and overtime at time and a half with full benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, etc.)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil)
  • Experience in an engineering discipline required
  • Distribution Line experience (overhead and underground)
  • Power Systems experience preferred
  • Experience in scoping, design, construction contracts, scheduling, cost tracking, progress reporting, strong matrix organization for safety purposes related to both internal and external customers
  • Experience with construction distribution design packages preferred, including design standards
  • Knowledge of adherence to resiliency and grid modernization standards, local laws, state and national agencies, obligations required by policies, procedures, and specifications
  • Experience in Right or Way and Vegetation groups with project deliverables as needed
  • Process-driven, good interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communication skills
