Progressive Global Energy is recruiting for an experienced Cost Analyst to support Power Delivery projects for a major Power & Electric Utility Company. This cost analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to: cost actuals, budgets, projections, tracking programs, etc. This will be a remote/work from home position, but we are seeking candidates that live within 3 hour driving distance of Atlanta, GA to attend meetings once per quarter (every 3 months). Eligible to work a 9/80 schedule (9 hour days with every other Friday off) depending on work load.

This is a long-term, full-time, 3 year contract position with high potential to keep extending or go direct hire with the Power company within 1 year. We offer competitive hourly rates to our contract employees with overtime at time and a half. Our contract employees receive full benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO, etc.).


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, technical, or business field
    • or minimum of 8 years relevant experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of cost control experience supporting Power Delivery projects
    • Transmission experience is preferred but distribution experience will be considered
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (i.e. Word, Excel, Access)
  • Strong working knowledge of project accounting functions including billing, project budget analysis, cost-to-complete analysis, contract financial requirements, change orders, etc.
  • Cost and budget analysis skills, including cost-to-date and cost-to-complete analysis and forecasting.
  • Anticipate and mitigate potential budget and scope change impacts.
  • Ability to handle multiple complex projects and tasks and work closely day to day with the project managers and other project controls analysts.
  • Ability and willingness to develop strong internal and external client working relationships.
  • Adaptable and flexible in a changing and evolving environment.
  • Proficiency in creating and manipulating pivot tables developing reports utilizing Microsoft reports is helpful
  • Experience with Oracle Projects
  • Comfortable with manual work (inputting data into system)
  • Working knowledge of how Power Delivery projects are implemented


  • Develop and maintain project cost data for assigned projects
  • Monitor alignment with project scope/schedule and ensure change management has been integrated into cost tracking
  • Ensure cost reporting requirements are met
  • Work with project team to identify and develop project specific reports
  • Exhibit an ability to work well with project managers, procurement, engineering firms, contractors, and accounting team.
  • A high overview example of duties might look like the following: Imagine there is a budget for $2 million, and after the cost analyst reviews the schedule for the project, the cost analyst determines the materials only cost $1 million questioning where is that extra million going?
  • This role will NOT be utilizing SAP/Eco Assist. The cost analyst will utilize Oracle Projects and can expect more manual inputting. Because the current system was established in January 2022 this role will require attention to detail when analyzing projects (a portion of the cost analyst's time will be pouring over data).
  • No invoicing, no processing or scheduling required.
