Construction Project Manager - Distribution - Utility
Progressive are looking for 3 Construction Planners to be based in the office at Berywn, PA.
We also are searching for 2 x Construction oversight to be based in the field, but with the same experience.
Location - Predominantly back office based and coordinating role (office type planner)
Mostly multi-screen work, looking at prints versus being out on field but potential to do field visits
Preparing electronic work packets for contractors to execute in the field
Reviewing and submitting clearance requests for line worker (aerial and underground jobs)
Reviewing and submitting material requests within distribution work
Review packets of info from engineers and designers
34 KV, 13KV, 4KV aerial and underground facilities
Look at projects on prints and determine what is being designed can be constructed
Make sure drawings are buildable and give a plan to the manager to make sure it is completed
If necessary they might have to do pre ground walk through and reviews
Make sure that equipment is being ordered properly
Working with other departments within the company to scheduler resources - work management groups
This department plans and designs it, schedules with work management group
Field work needs to be understood (tribal knowledge)
Not so much of a PM but more of a planner (PMP not needed)
Distribution specific skillset needed to execute duties
Line sight background
Lineman, engineer or designer background would be helpful
Understands switching and blocking on distribution - zone of protection (not necessarily someone in alignment but understand what they need to perform work)
Constructability - what is actually needed to build facilities, know materials (size of wires, size of switches, etc)
Tribal knowledge will most likely come from an alignment background
Duration: 2 Years Plus
