Civil Design Engineer (030239)

We have a current opportunity for a Civil Design Engineer on a temporary basis. The position will be based in Columbia, Alabama. For further information about this position please apply.

Responsibilities:

• Civil, structural seismic technical evaluations, analysis
• Preparation, revision and verification of civil, structural seismic documents and drawings
• Building, beam sizing and support evaluations
• Civil, structural seismic design calculations
• Following up on designs on the back end of closeout AE work
• Cross functional collaboration and multi-discipline tasks
• Supporting other engineering functions

Requirements:

Education Level & Experience Requirements:

• Engineering Degree from ABET College
• 5+ years exp. in related field

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Must understand Standard Design Process
• Industry design experience- IPENG 0001
• Preparation, revision and verification of SDP
• Preparation and verification of calculations
• 10 CFR 50.59 Screening and Evaluations
• Concrete drawings, drilling holes and penetration conduit category 1 structures
• Must have Nuclear background and experience

• Excellent communication skills- oral and written
• Must have experience with Design Change Packages
• Exp. with calculations (loading, etc.)
• Up to date with consensus design codes
• Ability to work on site
• Must be adaptable to a quick changing environment
