Progressive Global Energy is recruiting for experienced Area Maintenance Distribution Engineers for a large Gas and Electric utility holding company. This is a hybrid work schedule where the first 8-12 weeks candidates can expect to be in the Canton, GA office 4 days per week for training/onboarding/orientation prior to picking up additional responsibilities. Then the schedule will move to 2-3 days in the office (Marietta or Austell) and 2-3 days remote working or working in the field (based on customer needs) as this is a customer facing position. Looking for candidates that can be flexible and autonomous in their location and schedules. We will work with our candidates to ensure they are compensated fairly for their field visits, commutes, etc.

This position will be responsible for assisting to offset the current workload within the Smyrna Distribution Area. Employee will be expected to understand distribution and the Power Company programs/process. Duties will include, but are not limited to managing multiple projects, planning level utility projects involving voltage conversions and feeder additions, OH to UG feeder conversions, reliability improvements, and work with commercial/residential/industrial customers on complex distribution systems (network, auto-transfer multi-feeder, distribution ductline). Looking for candidates with experience in maintenance, distribution protection and sectionalizing, overhead (OH) experience, underground (UG) experience, relocation experience, maintenance on distribution lines/systems, versus engineers that solely calculate. Looking for candidates that understand how and why (math is secondary), and of course safety is paramount.

The corporate office is based in Atlanta, GA, and these positions will be in the Marietta and Austell, GA areas with the initial training to take place in the Canton, GA office. The work schedule is 9/80 meaning you will work 9 hour days Mon-Fri and then Mon-Thurs and get every other Friday off for a 3 day weekend.

This is a full-time, 3 year contract position that will go direct hire as early as 6-18 months or keep extending long term. The work will not slow down for this utility. Looking for local candidates to greater North Atlanta or Marietta, GA areas or candidates willing to relocate there. We offer competitive compensation packages with overtime at time and a half.   • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar field
  • Project Management experience or certifications are a plus
  • Experience with JETS, DistView, GIS, Socket, TEAMS, Auto-CAD, MOBI applications is preferred
  • Experience with planning level utility projects involving voltage conversions and feeder additions
  • Overhead to Underground feeder conversions experience
  • Substation, rebuilds, reconducting experience
  • Reliability improvements experience
  • Experience dealing with commercial/industrial customers with complex systems (i.e., Network, Auto-Transfer multi-feeder, Distribution Ductline) is preferred
  • Electric Utility Project Management experience that includes organized approach, time management of multiple projects, the ability to create/manage construction timelines (Gnatt Charts), lead pre-construction meetings, and strong communication skills is preferred
  • Distribution High Voltage Switching Experience to predict needs is a plus
  • Will consider less Distribution experience if candidates have a strong background in Transmission or Nuclear if experience correlates
