Transformation Finance Manager - CFO Function Finance Transformation

Progressive GE are looking for a Transformation Finance Manager on a 6 Month Contract basis.

This role will be supporting a leading Electric and Gas Utility based in New York and New England.

Role:

  • Combining business partnering and strong financial accounting and reporting skills to drive our Finance transformation
  • As a manager as part of the CFO Function's Finance Transformation Programme (CFOT), you will:
    • Own the relationship with modules of the CFOT project, providing support in all Finance-related matters and representing Finance in working with all elements of this programme (CFOT leaders and module workstreams; CFOT Project Management Office);
    • Own multiple additional relationships with Business Owners, Finance Business Partners (FBPs) and the CFO Function leadership team from across our UK and US geographies, as well as colleagues from People & Culture Function and Global IT Function, acting as key enablers to the programme;
    • Understand and challenge business cases, forecasts and other datasets from across a wide range of sources to build and develop a holistic view of plans, whilst building strong rapport, trust and credibility with colleagues and stakeholders;
    • Support, challenge and drive the strategic and financial decisions and priorities of the CFOT programme;
    • Provide transparency around the degree to which programmes are grounded, benefits can be assured and change is sustainable, as well as the cost to achieve such goals;
    • Embedding benefit reporting processes;
    • Present to senior stakeholders ensuring that complex changes are distilled into succinct and actionable tasks.

The Transformation programme's change agenda includes fundamental end to end process redesign, as well as a data, digitisation and automation journey; your support will be vital as the Function navigate its path through significant ongoing portfolio changes and further embedding ways of working in the new Group operating model.

Working closely with colleagues from the FP&A team, you will be responsible for ensuring planning, budgeting and forecasting processes accurately account for CFOT plans and that your stakeholders have a clear understanding of the financial impact of their activities. They will look to you to support them in making decisions and justifying them to their internal customers and the Group CFO and CEO.

To make such decisions, you will need to bridge the understanding gap between:

  • Program modules, where the focus is on delivery of initiatives and tasks;
  • Organization design modules, where the focus is on headcount and the delivery of a new organisation structure;
  • Business Owners, where the focus is on delivering forecasts/budgets;
  • Senior leadership, where the focus is on delivering sustainable change through transformation.

Requirements:

A recognized accountancy qualification is a must, as well as is the ability to influence and impact the decisions and financial performance of senior stakeholders and their teams.

You will demonstrate:

  • Expert planning forecasting and budgeting experience and capabilities.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
  • Ability to demonstrate clear long term strategic thinking and to join the dots between long term strategy and financial performance.
  • Proven ability to adapt style of financial information presentation to suit a range of stakeholders, both financial and non-financial.
  • Strong influencing and commercial skills, including ability to work effectively within a matrix management organization.

Location: Brooklyn New York (Hybrid)

Duration: Initial 6 months but likely to extend to many year
