For an organisation at Schiphol in Amsterdam, I am looking for a software development manager. This organisation is an innovative technology organisation that is operating worldwide and headquartered in Amsterdam. Despite their well-settled position within the aviation market, they function as a scale-up to adjust easily to their dynamic growth. They recently acquired some big projects that will realise the further growth of the organisation.

You will lead the development team that consists of 5 professionals, including 1 product owner and 4 developers. Your focus is to realise a good software product that can be marketed successfully by the business. By understanding the business needs, you define and execute the product roadmap. Responsibilities:

• Leading and managing the software development team;
• HR responsible by monitoring team performance, recruiting new software talent, ensuring quality, and mentoring team members;
• Defining and creating the product roadmap considering the business needs;
• Propose new product functionalities by presenting business cases to the board;
• Being on top of innovative technologies to ensure the company remains an industry leader;
• You drive innovation by managing the R&D initiatives. Also, keeping track of the budget, time, and quality;
• Facilitating training programs for the business to work with and sell the products perfectly;
• You are part of the management team and have a severe influence on the direction of the product, therefore, the company.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience with software development, preferably more;
• 2/3 years of experience as a software development manager;
• Experience with software development in a production environment;
• Experience within a Microsoft Development environment;
• Strong communication skills in English, preferably Dutch as well;
• Working experience in the Netherlands, preferably in an international environment;
• Dutch is highly preferred.
