What are the trends for businesses using Salesforce?

What is the ideal Salesforce candidate?

Depending on the role - be it developer, administrator or analyst - there are a number of hallmarks that signify a desirable Salesforce candidate. First of all, no matter which role a candidate is applying for, it is beneficial if they possess the relevant Salesforce qualification which backs up the skills they’ve developed in the workforce.

It’s also worth investigating how many years a candidate has worked with Salesforce for, how complex the various projects have been and which of the various platforms these have involved. Despite being used across a huge range of industries, some sectors will prioritise past experience more than others. In our experience, finance businesses definitely prefer analysts and other professionals that are familiar with the industry as well as Salesforce itself.

Salesforce isn’t the only CRM on the market, so it’s also worth checking if a candidate has experience with other competing solutions. This ensures they have a depth of knowledge they can draw from instead of being limited to one CRM platform.

Finally, for developers especially, it’s important to understand a candidate’s journey. If they’ve had experience with similar platforms in the past, such as Java, they’re likely to be even more valuable to a team. While technical competence within Salesforce is always going to a defining factor, it’s important to consider the whole range of their past experience.
