5 safety tips every employee should know

​June is National Safety Month in the United States--a time to focus on ways to reduce the causes of injuries at work and promote safety in the workplace. According to the National Safety Council, preventable work-related deaths totaled 4,414 in 2017 and have increased 17.5% in the last ten years.

Here’s another staggering statistic: A worker gets injured roughly every 7 seconds. That amounts to 510 workers per hour and 12,600 per day! In 2017, a total of 104 million production days were lost due to work-related injuries. The worst part is that each one of these injuries and deaths was preventable.

At Progressive, we take safety seriously, which is why we have a dedicated Health, Safety and Environment Director to ensure that our contractors and clients are always supported. In addition to our staffing services, we also provide personal protective equipment (PPE), incident reporting, and supplementary employee HSE training.
