SThree Foundation - Supporting future talent in STEM

SThree and our nine specialist brands play an integral part in supporting the talent pipeline for our clients who operate in life changing industries.

We are launching the SThree Foundation which will support bright young people from underprivileged and diverse backgrounds in to the fields of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). As a global specialist staffing business we’re aware of the skills shortage in the STEM industries and well placed to facilitate involvement across these sectors.

We believe that we all have a responsibility to ensure that we make career opportunities available to diverse talent for innovation and sustainable growth, as well as helping to change young lives towards positive destinations.

Through our Future Talent programme, set up in collaboration with charity partner Generating Genius, we're engaging school students who have an interest in STEM and strong academics to help them to successfully transition into STEM higher education, jobs and apprenticeships. Of all the students we support, 60% will be female to address the current gender imbalance going into these sectors.

What are we doing?

Initially, we’re working with Generating Genius, a London-based charity, to support 50 A-Level students, aged 16 - 18, from diverse ethnic backgrounds in disadvantaged areas, and 60% female, over two years as they complete high school. We will be offering these students SThree workshops to understand emerging trends and opportunities in STEM. We will also be working with our partners to provide week-long insight placements during the 2017 school holidays.
