Category Manager (m/w/d)
The Role:
In this role you will be responsible for development and implementation of the category strategy and plan for all Collection Centres within Europe. This will focus on working with senior business functional leaders and stakeholders to understand the business needs and drafting, reviewing and approving agreements. The role will also serve as a primary point of contact for projects and initiatives. Key duties will cover:
- Develop procurement plans and gather requirements, evaluate opportunities for improvement and identify internal strategies/trends; validate baseline spend
- Regularly perform strategic analysis of the category spend, market segmentation, market trends and other influencing factors that feed into a documented Opportunity Analysis Reports and Source Plans
- Review, update and refine the strategy and plan in line with CSL's strategic objectives and changes in market conditions
- Manage supplier relationships, including conducting regularly scheduled strategic supplier review meetings with supplier
- Execute competitive bid processes via RFx
- Classify suppliers and establish a performance review team to develop performance improvement plans and evaluate progress against plan.
- Develop replacement and transition plans in case of supplier replacement and resourcing
- Direct management or oversight of all supply contracts within the category, including the identification of alternative vendors, supplier performance monitoring, reporting and intervention
- Provide timely and efficient support in the planning, tendering, negotiating and the contracting process for construction companies and craftsmen involved in collection centres
- Drive the global sourcing policy and compliance within the stakeholder group
- Ability to be agile to act within the local market and German language
- Ownership of Vendor Identification and the Master Data Governance (MDG) process on both local and regional vendors
- Collaborate with the Global Procurement teams to release synergies as identified.
To be successful:
- Extensive experience in Sourcing
- Experience of stakeholder management in a complex decentralized global environment
- Bachelor degree in Business or Supply Chain or a technical discipline relevant to CSL products
- 7+ years procurement/supply management experience
- Purchasing Management Certification (ISM/CPM, CIPS) preferred
- Experience of the full range of Procurement tools, techniques and accountabilities ranging from supplier management, category analysis; buying and handling
- Demonstrated experience in successfully negotiating complex supply agreements
- Fluent German and Business English Language
